PADDLE BOARDS

SUP Stand Up Paddle BoardStand Up Paddle Boarding is growing very quickly so while on a surf trip I had to try it. It was more difficult than I thought but once I got the hang of it, riding small waves was such fun. I made myself a board and walking up the stairs after my first session I met my old friend Jason Mueller. He is an excellent surfer and fell in love with the sport of Stand Up Paddle boarding. He tried the board and said it was pretty good and encouraged me to make some adjustments on a new one. With his upbeat personality and stoke for the sport, he encouraged me to pursue making more boards. Together we have refined the shape that works great for wave riding. Jason’s favorite board is a 9’5” X 29” X 4 1/4” tri fin set-up (10” center long box with 2 future side fins). I glass his boards light for performance “SUPing” at his home break Agate Street. Check the photos of his latest parrot green SUP with resin top art inlay. This board has a pulled end rounded pin tail for quick rail to rail turns and control in steep waves. The nose is still full like a performance long board for nose riding, if you have the skills to do that. This board is not overly “surfy” so that you can still enjoy long paddles. We suggest taking out the side fins if you are not surfing. This board and our others are on computer file so that it is easily adjusted to any shape you might desire. Jason’s next board is a 10’6” X 29” X 4 3/8”. This is his go-to board when the waves are small or he wants to just cruise the coastline. This file can easily be lengthened and widened enough so even grandma can enjoy a cruise in front of her lake house.
