If you ever get a chance to ride the WaveLoch at the Wave House in Mission Beach or elsewhere around the world, we highly recommend you go for it. Paul first became interested in making flowboards back in 2001. His boards turned out lighter and stonger than the competition. Months later, he was asked to make different samples for the portable Flow Rider. His designs where well appreciated, and shortly after, he was asked to make fifty-nine boards (16 different shapes) for the opening of Wave House in South Africa. The opening was a big success; Grape team rider Bill Bryan was awarded 1st place, and has won many more contests on Grape flowboards. The opening contest of the Wave House in San Diego was won by snowboarding legend Terje Haakonsen- who used Paul’s personal flowboard. He did two amazing Haakon flips back-to-back on the same wave; it was super- rad.
In recent years, Paul has worked with Jaime Lovett on boards that are more bi- directional for ease in performing switch-tricks. Jaime is amazing to watch on the “B-Max” . He has won Wave House competitions on both the straped-in & strapless Grape flowboards. He was the first to land the double back flip on his bi-directional 44” X 12”. Grape now has 25 different flowboard templates to choose from, but each board is made custom. Grape flowboards are lighter, stronger, and are used by the best.
